What is the Energy Company Obligation?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme is a government incentive that helps people lower their home heating costs through energy efficiency measures.
With the ECO scheme you can get free energy saving measures installed in your home. You will be able to access a range of energy efficiency improvements that will help them improve their home’s EPC ratings to a rating of C or above.

How do I qualify for ECO4 funding or other schemes?
To qualify for ECO4 funding, either you or someone in the household must meet the following requirements:
You’ll need an EPC rating of D or below, as well as being in receipt of one of the following:
- Housing benefit
- Child Tax Credits (CTC)
- Child Benefits (depends on income threshold)
- Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
- Income related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support (IS)
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Universal Credit (UC)
- Warm Home Discount Scheme Rebate
- Working Tax Credit (WTC)
- Pension Credit Savings Credit
