Background:

We had secured incentive back funding through RHI and local funding hubs to replace our ageing and uneconomical electric storage heaters and hot water systems in all 74 of our properties on the Green Lane estate in Horwich, which comprised of one and two-bedroom flats.

We desperately needed a reliable M&E contractor to install 74, 5KW Diakin Altherma Monoboloc Air Source Heat Pumps on the estate to make our homes more energy efficient.

What we did:

Thermatic Homes carried out pre-commencement surveys at each property and discovered that the residents were spending an average of £4.12 per day to heat their home and produce hot water with very little control.

We installed Daikin 74, 5Kw Altherma Monobloc Systems. Which gave the residents full control of their homes ambient temperature and running hours. Due to the efficiency of the water storage system, the cost of storing hot water was also dramatically reduced.

Results:

Following completion, we carried out energy surveys to the properties and were greeted with extremely happy residents who reported huge savings of up to 70% on their energy costs.

“Bolton at Home was first introduced to Thermatic Homes Ltd, after securing funding to replace, old Electric Storage Heaters with Economy 7 for hot water, with a new Air Source Heat Pump system. Successfully installing 74, 5KW Daikin Altherma Monobloc Air Source Heat Pumps in our properties.

With the successful delivery of the scheme, Thermatic Homes was appointed as the main contractor for the scheme, carrying out additional Air Source Heat Pump installations and the repairs and maintenance on these systems. Although working through the current pandemic, Thermatic Homes have successfully attended any call outs, within our agreed times.” Matthew Taylor, Environmental Sustainability Manager - Bolton at Home.
